Job Description

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for a variety of daily business transactions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and light collection functions. Light collections will entail contacting clients regarding payment status, researching potential billing issues, and coordinating activities with other billing and operations staff. In order to be successful, this position will properly manage these functions in accordance with corporate accounting practices and guidelines.

Responsibilities:

Perform daily billing function for selected clients and/or business units
Perform daily cash application function for selected clients and/or business units.
Perform daily payables function for selected clients and/or business units.
Perform daily review of accounts receivable aging and prioritize daily activities accordingly.
Prepare accounts receivable aging report to be distributed to management at least weekly.
Ensure timely and accurate responses to customer inquiries, questions, documentation issues, billing errors, payment application errors, and disputes.
Research billing errors and disputes by collaborating with billing and operations staff.
Participate in bi-weekly aged account review with management.
Continually search for improved methods of tracking, controlling and reporting aged accounts.
Prioritize work to achieve or exceed established collection metrics.
Perform various analyses as directed by management
Assist with other accounting projects as directed by management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Customer service or Industry-related experience
Ability to type a minimum of 30-40 wpm.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; professional presentation.
General computer skills
Ability to multi -task

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent, Associates degree preferred
3-5 years’ experience in a Corporate Accounting environment
Intermediate PC skills including Microsoft Excel and Word
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains a plus
Must be willing to multi-task and take ownership of tasks and processes
Excellent attention to detail and focus on accuracy
Effective verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
Must exhibit a solid professional business image with a team player attitude
Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
Must be willing to work overtime as needed
